Tomorrow is World Nutella Day organized by Sara from Ms. Adventures in Italy and Michelle from Bleeding Espresso. I wanted to post this on the 5th, but I will be offline all day long. So here is my entry for the world nutella day.
for 4 Germknödel
125 ml milk
25 g butter
20 g fresh yeast
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 pinch salt
250 g flour
4 teaspoons Nutella
4 fresh or frozen cherries
vanilla sauce
Warm the milk and let the butter get melted in it. Mix it with sugar, salt, flour and yeast until you have a smooth dough. Let is rest for 30 minutes on a warm place. Devide the dough in 4 equal parts. Fill each part with a teaspoon of Nutella and a cherry. Butter your steaming insert or but a baking sheet on it. Place the 4 “Knödel” on it (give them enough space to grow). Let them rest for another 10/15 minutes. Steam them at 90°C for 20 minutes. Serve the Germknödel with vanilla sauce.
Dieser Eintrag passt nicht nur zum Nutella World Day sondern auch zu dem Event von zorra “Love is in the air“. Alice hat mir versichert, dass man auch als Single dran teilnehmen darf 😉 Bei dem Beitrag musste ich an “sweets for my sweets, sugar for my honey” denken.

I’d never heard of germknödel before, but it looks so beautiful and silk. Plus you can’t go wrong with nutella!

they are some kind of dumplings and very typical in the region of Austria and southern Germany.
wow, geniale idee!!!
I discovered Nutella for the 1st time today! then i went and found this recipe. I live in the USA and don’t know what type of cooking device you use for steaming. Can you please tell me what to buy or what i should use to make this recipe? It looks amazingly beautiful and lucious, and since my true love is German, I think he will love this 🙂 thank you so much
i have a small steamer, or i can buy the chinese bamboo steamers, i just wanted to find out what is best or what you use thanks again.
